How does a picnic booking work?

​

We create an aesthetically styled picnic for you based on your contact form selections (guest count, occasion, location, themes, etc.). Our picnic packages can also be curated and based on completely custom designs, resulting in a picnic setup that is truly unique and bespoke to you - please inquire about our design and style services.

We deliver, set up, style your picnic and have everything ready upon your arrival. We wait at the picnic until you arrive to greet you. Once you arrive, we leave you to enjoy your experience for the reserved time. You are responsible for the items until we return to pack them up at the arranged time. Once we return to pack up, you are free to leave and enjoy the rest of your day or evening.

Can you setup indoors?

Yes, we can! As long as there's sufficient space, we can setup indoors and recommend the position of the setup to help with capturing the best angles for pictures!

How far in advance do I need to book?

We require at least 7-10 days notice of a picnic. However, with the exception of last minute cancellations we may have availability, please enquire.

Do you have preferred picnic spots?

Picnics by Chelsey specialises in locations in the Hills Area, upper/lower north shore, Eastwood/Macquarie/Sydney Olympic Park areas. Other favourite garden spots in the Sydney CBD/Eastern Suburbs carry a small travel fee for mileage and time.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you have to cancel for any reason you forfeit fees paid as follows:

(a) If booking is cancelled 10-14 days + notice before the event date we will refund you 100% of the total booking fee (for custom theme picnics, only 50% of the total booking fee will be refunded);

(b) Bookings cancelled within 7-10 days notice of the picnic date will forfeit 50% of the total booking fee (inclusive of COVID-19 or in the event of bad weather (for custom theme picnics, 75% will be forfeited). 

(c) All picnic bookings cancelled within 5 days or less will forfeit 100% of the total amount and all rights to a refund

(d) Picnics by Chelsey. has the full right to charge the client full fees for services or goods that occurred or were purchased for the event (ie. fresh florals, custom props etc.) before the cancellation

What if it rains?

We understand weather in Sydney can be a little unpredictable! However, if the weather forecast predicts rain for your picnic date, please contact us in advance of your picnic to discuss your options.

​

1. In the case of rain, the Client has up to 48 hours prior to the Event to decide if they want to make alternate arrangements at an indoor location or reschedule the event.

2. The Client has a 3 month limit following the cancelled event for rescheduling and must be of equal value.

3. If Picnics by Chelsey is not notified of cancellation, intent of rescheduling or change in venue a minimum of 48 hours hours prior to Event Date, no refunds of any kind will be provided.

4. In the case the weather forecast predicts rain, Picnics by Chelsey will not assemble items outdoors.

Is alcohol allowed?

We currently do not provide alcoholic beverages as part of our picnic packages - there are no licences that cover this. However,  we encourage you to bring your own and we can provide ice buckets - just check alcohol laws for your venue/public space. Picnics by Chelsey takes no responsibility for any alcohol consumption or penalties occurred.

READY TO BOOK?

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure a booking. Please note a bond fee will need to be paid prior to the day of your picnic.

Why do I pay a bond?

A bond is secured as peace of mind for us that inventories remain intact and treasured. This will be returned via bank transfer within 2-5 business days post event as long as picnic goods are damage free, and everything is accounted for. 

​

What if i'm running late?

We ask that you let us know if you are running late as we want your grazing spread to be freshly served before your arrival. We are able to wait 20 minutes maximum with no fee.
A fee of $40 if you are 20-40 minutes late.
A fee of $80 if you are 40-60 minutes late
